INTRODUCTION

For centuries, House Bricard Art has been working with the best craftsmen to create outstanding models.

Craftsmen utlise their unique talent supporting skilled locksmiths and are proud of their heritage which contributes to the cultural and artistic reputation of France.

This passion is reflected in the quality of the final product giving them unique charachter and charm.

Discover the secrets that preside over their genesis.

THE DIE-FATHERS

There are over 30,000 models in storage ready to be used for new creations. Shaped after prestigious sources collected across ages and continents, or created by the House of Bricard Art, these die-fathers are the soul of our expertise, and the heritage we have from our ancestors.

MOULDING

The cast for each order is inspected for flaws to guarantee a perfect moulding.

Once the cast is approved it is covered in sand to obtain it's imprint used for the mould of a unique piece.

FOUNDRY

Once the mould has been shaped, it is sealed in a chassis allowing the melting metal inside to cast.

It is a defining moment when the molten material flows to form a work of art.

REMOVING FROM THE MOULD

Once the material cools, the chassis are opened to reveal the final models in open daylight.

However, they still need to undergo a long process before reaching their final shape and aspect. They are refined and chiselled before receiving their finishing coat.

CHISELLING

An important point to make is that only the most skilled craftsmen are trusted to sculpt. Their patience and expertise ensure that the most complex textures and shapes are achieved.

FINISHING

The raw metal will now receive a surface treatment that will perfect its original shape.

In this field, the only limit is the imagination of the craftsmen who combine processes and elements in order to obtain a large range of colors and finishes.

FITTING

In the end, our creations are adjusted and prepared for their final purpose. The last finishes are controlled, screw threads solded, and locks assembled and fitted.
